Meet Our Staff

Valerie Beck has been in the education field for 19 years. She earned her A.A. in General Education from Moorpark Junior College, her B.A. from CSUN and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a Supplementary Authorization in Mathematics from CSU Fullerton. She began her career teaching Middle School Mathematics and then fell in love with Parent Education after she had children of her own. She went back to school to take extra classes at UCLA to be qualified to teach Parent Education. She has taught Parent Education for LAUSD for 16 years and she also has taught Parent Education privately for Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) for 5 years. She is now one of the business owners of Rinaldi Mommy and Me, LLC. She holds a Current CA Teaching Credential.

Laurie Carter has been in the teaching profession since 1986. She earned her B.A. in Sociology from CSUN and her CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master's Degree in Education from UCLA.  She has taught elementary and middle school grades, and was also a reading specialist for LAUSD. Her passion for teaching parenting classes began after she had the first of her three children. Since 2000, she has taught classes in the Parent Education program, including "Mommy and Me", Transition, School Readiness Language Development Program, and Distance Learning for teenagers. She is an adjunct professor at Los Angeles Mission College teaching English as a Second Language. She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and traveling. She is now one of the business owners of Rinaldi Mommy and Me, LLC. (and her kids!) are all alumni of Rinaldi school!

Kay Munson has been a Teacher's Assistant at Rinaldi Adult School for over 15 years. She is now one of the business owners of Rinaldi Mommy and Me, LLC.

photo Carmen Cabrera

Carmen Cabrera is one of our substitute teachers.  She taught at St. Alfred's Day School in Clearwater Florida from 1997 to 2001. She also taught Sunday school at St. Stephen’s Church in Santa Clarita California from 2004 to 2008.  She went on to be the Youth Group Leader, also at St. Stephens Church, from 2008 to 2011. She earned her A.A. in General Education from College of the Canyons and her B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University Northridge.  She earned her CA teaching credential fron CSUN.  With one son, a Senior in College, and a daughter, a Freshman in College, Carmen can focus on her passion for teaching. She enjoys riding motorcycles, spending time with the family and cruising to interesting destinations.
